The National IFAP Committee Ukraine has appealed to UNESCO with a statement regarding the destruction of a printing house in Kharkiv by Russia

Promotion, protection and publishing of books is one of the tasks overseen by UNESCO. On May 23, Russia destroyed the “Factor-Druk” printing house in Kharkiv with a missile strike, killing 7 of its workers, injuring dozens more, and destroying tens of thousands of books. Russia is still a member of UNESCO, and its actions are in direct contradiction to the values upheld by the international organization.

In this regard, National IFAP Committee Ukraine prepared a statement to UNESCO regarding this tragic event. The statement calls on UNESCO to condemn Russia for its crimes in Ukraine and to exclude all Russian representatives from UNESCO bodies.
